During the first week of December 2007 the Soil Science Society of East Africa (SSSEA) will organize its 24th Annual Conference at Jumuia Conference and Country Home, Limuru, Kenya. The Theme of the conference is “Improved Livelihoods through Applied Soil Science and Land Management”. SSSEA secretariat has launched a first call for abstracts. Presenters are required to prepare abstracts with a title page showing author name(s) and contact address. The abstract should summarize briefly the essential contents: introduction, materials and methods, results and discussions and conclusions, and must not exceed 250 words. Poster presentations are also encouraged. All Abstracts should cover disciplines related to sub-themes below:
- Soil Fertility Management and Agricultural Productivity
- Management of Soil and Water for enhanced Land Productivity
- Environmental change and implications on livelihood and Natural Resource Management
- Research and Technology Transfer for Improved Land Management
- Socio-Economic and Policy issues in Land Management
